How do I diagnose errors caused by external APIs or AI providers?

Polyosync can interact with external business applications, APIs, and AI providers. An operation involving these services may fail because of conditions outside the immediate Polyosync workspace configuration. Examples include authentication failures, unavailable endpoints, rate limits, invalid requests, and temporary provider disruptions. How to identify an external dependency error Start by reviewing the operation that failed. Check whether the error occurred while accessing a connected application, processing an AI request, retrieving external data, or submitting information to another service. Common external error categories Authentication errors may indicate expired or invalid credentials. Permission errors may indicate that the connected account lacks the required authorization. Rate-limit errors may indicate that a provider is restricting the frequency or volume of requests. Validation errors may indicate that the external service rejected the submitted data. Service availability errors may indicate a temporary disruption. Timeout errors may indicate that the external service did not respond within the expected period. How to troubleshoot 1. Identify the external service involved. 2. Review the relevant integration configuration. 3. Verify that the connected account remains authorized. 4. Check whether the external provider reports an incident. 5. Review any available execution error details. 6. Confirm that the requested operation is supported by the integration. 7. Check whether recent permission or configuration changes could explain the failure. 8. Test a limited, low-risk operation where appropriate. Does an external error mean Polyosync is broken? Not necessarily. An operation can fail because an independent service rejects a request or becomes unavailable. However, Polyosync configuration and request handling may also require investigation. What about AI providers? Polyosync uses external AI providers to support AI-powered operations. A provider-side error may affect a particular AI request even when unrelated platform functions continue operating normally. When to contact Support Provide the affected integration or AI operation, error message, approximate timestamp, and relevant execution reference. Never include provider API keys, access tokens, or other secret credentials.
