Why can't I connect an external application to Polyosync?

If you are unable to connect an external application to Polyosync, the issue may be related to authentication, permissions, external provider restrictions, network connectivity, or an interruption during the authorization process. A failed connection does not necessarily indicate that the external service is unavailable. The cause should be identified before attempting repeated authorization. Common causes 1. Incorrect or expired external account credentials. 2. Missing permissions in the external application. 3. An authorization request that was declined or cancelled. 4. Administrator approval required by the external provider. 5. Browser restrictions affecting the authorization process. 6. Network connectivity problems. 7. A temporary external API or authentication service outage. 8. An expired or interrupted authorization session. 9. An integration configuration that is incomplete or invalid. 10. An unsupported account configuration or provider restriction. How to troubleshoot a failed connection Step 1: Confirm that the integration is supported. Verify that the external service and the intended connection method are available in Polyosync. Step 2: Verify your external account. Sign in directly to the external provider and confirm that the account is active and accessible. Step 3: Review account permissions. Some services require administrator approval or specific account privileges before third-party applications can be connected. Step 4: Restart the connection process. Return to the relevant integration configuration in Polyosync and initiate the connection again. Step 5: Complete the authorization process. Follow the external provider's instructions and review any requested permissions. Step 6: Check your browser. Ensure that necessary redirects, cookies, and authorization pages are not being blocked by browser settings or extensions. Step 7: Check the provider's service status. If the external platform is experiencing an outage, authorization may temporarily fail. Step 8: Review the error message. Record any error code or explanation displayed by Polyosync or the external provider. Step 9: Try again after resolving the identified issue. Avoid repeatedly reconnecting without investigating the cause, particularly if the provider applies security or rate limits. What if the authorization window closes unexpectedly? Restart the connection process and complete the authorization without navigating away from the required pages. What if the external provider requires administrator approval? Contact the administrator of the external account or organization. Polyosync cannot bypass authorization requirements imposed by another service. What if the integration still cannot connect? Contact Polyosync Support with the integration name, approximate time of the failed attempt, relevant error message, and the steps already attempted. Do not include passwords, access tokens, API keys, or other confidential credentials. Recommended approach Start by verifying the external account and its permissions, then investigate browser restrictions and provider availability before changing integration settings.
