What controls and safety limits are available for Autonomous Workflows?

Polyosync Autonomous Workflows include execution controls designed to keep autonomous operations within defined boundaries. Businesses can configure limits before starting a workflow and inspect execution activity afterward. What limits can I configure? Maximum iterations. This controls how many orchestration cycles the workflow can perform. Maximum tasks. This limits the total number of tasks the workflow can execute. AI cost budget. This establishes a maximum estimated AI provider execution cost for the run. The execution engine enforces the configured budget and can stop a workflow when the limit is reached. Does the AI cost budget represent an additional subscription charge? Not necessarily. The AI cost budget is an internal execution control and should not be confused with the business's subscription price or contractual billing terms. Actual customer billing depends on the applicable Polyosync plan or enterprise agreement. Are approvals supported? Yes. Some execution activities may require approval. A workflow can enter a waiting state when an approval or another execution dependency prevents immediate continuation. Can I cancel a workflow? Yes. The Autonomous Workflows interface includes a cancellation action for running or waiting executions. Can I review what the workflow did? Yes. Polyosync records execution events and provides a timeline for reviewing workflow activity. Why are these controls important? Autonomous AI should not mean unlimited or unobservable execution. Businesses need to understand what is happening, what resources are being used, and when human intervention is required. Polyosync combines autonomous orchestration with bounded execution and operational visibility to support that requirement.
