How does workspace separation work within an Enterprise Organization?

Enterprise Organizations may contain multiple operational workspaces serving different departments, teams, or business units. Workspace separation is an important part of organizing these environments and managing access to business information. An Enterprise Organization provides a common organizational structure, but belonging to the same organization does not automatically mean that every employee should have access to every workspace. Understanding workspace boundaries A workspace represents an operational environment within Polyosync. Depending on the organization's configuration, different workspaces may contain distinct AI employees, operational activities, business information, and authorized users. For example, a company may establish separate environments for Finance, Sales, and Customer Support. Each department can then operate within its assigned environment rather than requiring every activity to be managed through one shared workspace. Why is workspace separation important? Workspace separation helps organizations: 1. Organize operational responsibilities. 2. Distinguish departmental activities. 3. Apply appropriate access permissions. 4. Reduce unnecessary exposure of business information. 5. Establish clearer administrative responsibilities. 6. Manage AI workforce configurations according to business functions. 7. Support organizational governance requirements. 8. Review operational activity in the relevant business context. Does belonging to an Enterprise Organization grant access to all workspaces? No. Organization membership should not be interpreted as unrestricted access to every operational environment. Access depends on the applicable workspace membership, assigned permissions, and organization configuration. How does this relate to AI employees? AI employees should operate within their configured responsibilities and authorized operational context. An AI employee assigned to one business function should not be assumed to have permission to access unrelated business information. Any operation involving sensitive information or external systems must respect the applicable authorization controls. Can departments collaborate while maintaining boundaries? Organizations may require activities that involve multiple departments. Where collaboration is supported and configured, the relevant permissions and operational rules must govern what information and actions are available. Collaboration requirements should be planned explicitly rather than assuming unrestricted sharing between workspaces. Does workspace separation replace user permissions? No. Workspace separation and role-based permissions address different aspects of access control. Workspace boundaries establish the relevant operational environment. User permissions determine what an authorized person can do within the applicable environment. Both should be considered when designing an Enterprise Organization. Recommended configuration practices 1. Identify which business information belongs to each department. 2. Assign workspace access according to operational responsibilities. 3. Use the appropriate Enterprise roles. 4. Avoid unnecessary administrative privileges. 5. Review integration access before enabling external connections. 6. Define AI employee responsibilities clearly. 7. Validate authorization behavior when introducing new workflows. 8. Review workspace access when organizational responsibilities change. Important consideration Workspace separation should not be treated as a substitute for reviewing the organization's actual security configuration. The specific isolation guarantees, data-sharing rules, and access enforcement applicable to a deployment must be established through the implemented platform controls and the organization's agreed configuration. Summary Workspace separation allows an Enterprise Organization to support multiple operational environments without treating every department as one unrestricted workspace. Effective separation depends on appropriate workspace configuration, access permissions, and authorization controls.
