What happens when a delegated AI task fails or cannot be completed?

A delegated task in Polyosync may fail or remain incomplete if the receiving AI Employee cannot perform the requested activity. Possible reasons include insufficient information, unavailable capabilities, permission restrictions, execution errors, or problems with a connected service. Polyosync supports recording collaboration execution information so businesses can investigate unsuccessful activities. Does the original AI Employee always continue after a failure? Not necessarily. The outcome depends on the collaboration mechanism, execution conditions, and whether the original task can continue without the delegated result. Businesses should not assume that an unsuccessful delegated task has been completed successfully. What happens when another task depends on the failed result? In Collaboration Orchestration, dependencies establish which tasks require earlier work. If a prerequisite fails or does not provide the necessary output, the dependent task may be unable to proceed as intended. This helps distinguish incomplete work from a successful end-to-end execution. Can the business identify the problem? Supported collaboration records can include execution statuses, errors, and available results. For orchestration runs, Polyosync also supports reviewing execution history and task-level outcomes. The information available depends on the execution and the user's permissions. Will Polyosync automatically correct every failure? No. Businesses should not assume that every failure will be automatically recovered or that every unsuccessful task will be retried. Recovery behavior depends on the specific capability and its configured execution logic. Can an administrator investigate technical details? Polyosync distinguishes ordinary collaboration read access from elevated permissions for technical diagnostics. This helps control who can inspect lower-level execution information. What should a business do after a failure? Review the recorded execution and identify which task or collaboration request did not complete. Check whether the relevant AI Employee has the necessary instructions, knowledge, permissions, and available tools. If the issue involves an external service, verify that the integration is operational. For important activities, review the results before taking further business action. Why does failure visibility matter? An AI workforce should not be evaluated only by successful demonstrations. Businesses also need to understand when work does not complete as expected. Polyosync's collaboration history helps organizations review supported AI agent activity and investigate operational issues.
