How does Polyosync retrieve the right memories when an AI Employee needs them?

Polyosync includes persistent memory retrieval functionality designed to make relevant retained information available during supported AI Employee operations. Storing information is only one part of persistent memory. For memory to be useful, the AI Employee must also be able to retrieve appropriate information when it becomes relevant. For example, a customer may return with a question related to an earlier interaction. If relevant customer information has been retained, the memory retrieval process may provide that context to the AI Employee. How are memories selected? The customer-related memory implementation supports scoped retrieval and memory attributes such as importance, confidence, and recency of confirmation. Polyosync also includes semantic memory functionality designed to support relevance-based retrieval. This is useful because a customer may express the same idea using different words. A relevant memory does not always contain exactly the same wording as the current question. Does the AI Employee search every memory in the entire platform? No. Persistent customer memory is scoped to the applicable business workspace, AI Employee, and customer. This prevents the retrieval mechanism from being treated as an unrestricted search across unrelated businesses or customers. Are inactive or expired memories retrieved? The customer-related persistent memory implementation filters for active records that have not expired. This helps avoid retrieving information that has been explicitly deactivated or is outside its configured validity period. Does retrieval guarantee that the most relevant memory will always be found? No. Memory retrieval depends on the available information, retrieval method, configuration, and context of the operation. An AI Employee may fail to retrieve a relevant memory or may interpret retrieved information incorrectly. For important decisions, businesses should maintain appropriate validation and oversight. How does this help customer-facing AI agents? Relevant memory can help an AI Employee provide more context-aware assistance. For example, an AI sales assistant may benefit from a previously recorded product preference. A customer support agent may benefit from information about an earlier issue. The purpose is to make supported AI interactions more useful and consistent without assuming that every previous conversation must be included in full. Polyosync's persistent memory retrieval capabilities support the broader goal of making AI Employees suitable for ongoing responsibilities rather than isolated question-and-answer sessions.
