Why is my business process not producing the expected results?

A business process may complete without producing the result you expected. This can happen when the process configuration does not match the intended business objective, the input information is incomplete, or an external dependency behaves differently than anticipated. A completed execution should therefore be evaluated based on both its technical status and its actual business outcome. How to investigate unexpected results: 1. Open Business Processes. 2. Locate the affected process. 3. Open Run History. 4. Select the relevant execution. 5. Review the recorded result and execution events. 6. Compare the output with the original business requirements. 7. Review the process configuration and the information supplied to the execution. What should I check first? Confirm that the expected result was clearly defined. For example, if a process is intended to organize incoming customer information, determine what a correct result should contain and whether the available input data supports that outcome. Could incomplete information cause unexpected results? Yes. A process cannot reliably produce an accurate result when required information is missing, incorrect, or inconsistent. Can AI-generated outputs differ between executions? AI-powered activities may produce different outputs depending on the supplied information, task instructions, and execution conditions. Important outputs should be validated against the organization's business requirements. Does a successful status guarantee that the output is correct? No. A successful technical execution indicates that the operation completed according to the recorded execution state. It does not independently verify every business requirement. How can I improve reliability? Review the process configuration, improve input quality, clarify expected outcomes, and validate important results before using them in consequential activities. Polyosync helps businesses examine execution results so that unexpected outcomes can be identified and investigated.
