Why is an AI Collaboration task stuck or not progressing?

An AI Collaboration task may appear to be stuck when it is waiting for a required dependency, when an execution is taking longer than expected, or when a problem prevents the task from completing. Polyosync Collaboration Orchestration coordinates AI Employees through structured tasks and dependencies. Understanding those relationships is important when investigating a task that does not appear to progress. What should I check first? Review the orchestration run and its available execution status. Identify the task that appears to be delayed. Check whether that task depends on another task. A dependent task cannot become eligible for execution until its required earlier tasks have completed successfully. Why might a task be waiting? Consider an orchestration in which an AI Employee prepares a final recommendation using results from both an Operations AI Employee and a Finance AI Employee. If the financial assessment has not completed, the final recommendation cannot proceed using that required output. This is expected dependency behavior rather than necessarily an error. What if the task has no outstanding dependencies? Review its execution status and any available error information. The task may be affected by an execution problem, an unavailable capability, or a connected service. Do not assume that every delay has the same cause. Can tasks run in parallel? Yes. Collaboration Orchestration supports parallel execution of eligible tasks when their dependencies have been satisfied. Independent tasks do not necessarily need to wait for one another. Should I restart the collaboration immediately? Not always. First determine whether the run is still active, has failed, or is waiting on another activity. Avoid repeatedly starting the same business operation without understanding its current status, especially when external systems or consequential actions may be involved. What if the status does not change? Record the relevant run information, affected task, approximate execution time, and any visible errors. Contact Polyosync Support if the problem persists. How does this help businesses? Polyosync makes it possible to coordinate AI agents through structured execution rather than manually managing every task. Understanding dependencies and execution statuses helps businesses distinguish expected waiting behavior from problems requiring investigation.
