What happens when an AI Employee cannot complete an automation step?

If an AI Employee cannot complete a required automation step, the outcome depends on the type of operation, the error encountered, and the workflow's configured execution behavior. Polyosync uses internal AI Employees to carry out AI-assisted automation activities, including supported tool operations and task delegation. Why might an AI Employee be unable to complete a step? Possible reasons include: - Missing or insufficient business context. - A required tool being unavailable. - Access or permission restrictions. - Invalid or incomplete input data. - A failure during AI processing. - A delegated task encountering an error. - An operation requiring human approval. Does Polyosync allow AI Employees to invent successful outcomes? Polyosync's automation execution instructions explicitly require AI Employees not to claim that an external action succeeded unless the relevant tool confirms success. This distinction matters because generating a response is not the same as completing a real business operation. What happens if an action requires approval? Supported actions that require approval can enter a waiting-for-approval state rather than being represented as completed. This helps preserve the distinction between a proposed action and an authorized, completed action. Can another AI Employee be involved? Yes. Polyosync supports delegation between AI Employees within configured workflows. An AI Employee can delegate a task to another authorized AI Employee when the workflow supports that operation. However, delegation does not guarantee success if the required data, tools, or permissions are unavailable. How should businesses respond? Review the execution information, identify the affected step, and check the AI Employee's configuration and available capabilities. For important business operations, use appropriate human oversight and verify external outcomes. Polyosync combines AI-powered execution with workflow structure and operational visibility, helping businesses manage AI Employees as part of their actual processes.
