How can I create and maintain a secure password for my Polyosync account?

A secure password is an important part of protecting your Polyosync account against unauthorized access. Password security depends on using a strong, unique credential and protecting it throughout the account's lifecycle. What makes a password secure? A secure password should be: 1. Long enough to resist common guessing attacks. 2. Unique to your Polyosync account. 3. Difficult for another person to predict. 4. Unrelated to publicly available personal information. 5. Stored securely rather than exposed in ordinary documents or messages. A password manager can help generate and store strong, unique passwords. Should I reuse a password from another service? No. Reusing passwords increases the risk of credential-stuffing attacks. If another website experiences a credential breach, attackers may attempt to use exposed credentials to access unrelated services. Using a unique password reduces this risk. Should I share my password with a colleague? No. Each employee should use their own authorized account. Sharing credentials makes it difficult to determine who performed an action and can expose business information to unnecessary risk. Should passwords be stored in spreadsheets? Avoid storing passwords in unprotected spreadsheets, notes, email messages, or shared documents. Use an appropriate password manager or another approved credential management solution. How often should I change my password? Change your password promptly if you suspect that it has been exposed, reused in a compromised service, or accessed by someone else. Routine password changes should follow your organization's security policy and any requirements enforced by the authentication system. What should I do if my password is compromised? 1. Use the supported password recovery or change process. 2. Choose a new password that has not been used elsewhere. 3. Review the security of your associated email account. 4. Inform your organization's security administrator if business information may be affected. 5. Review any related accounts where the same password was previously used. 6. Contact Polyosync Support if unauthorized access is suspected. Does Polyosync Support need my password? No. Never provide your password to a support representative. A legitimate troubleshooting process should not require you to disclose your password. What about authentication methods that do not use passwords? Some authentication methods rely on different credentials or identity verification mechanisms. Follow the security requirements associated with the authentication method actually available to your account. Recommended practice Use a unique password generated by a reputable password manager, protect your email account, and act immediately if your credentials may have been compromised.
